Taylor Gauthia, LPC-Associate, supervised by Dr. Maria Peters, LPC-S, is a compassionate and empathetic counselor who is passionate about enhancing the well-being of children, adolescents, and families. She specializes in children with trauma, anxiety, depression, foster care, self-esteem, and children with learning disabilities. She holds a strong belief that youth are the foundation of the future; therefore, she prioritizes fostering a supportive and non-judgmental environment that allows children to heal and develop into well-rounded adults. She is a firm believer that all individuals are capable of overcoming life's challenges through healing, resilience, and self-care. At a very young age, Taylor developed a passion for helping others in need, which fueled her drive to enter the field of mental health counseling. She possesses a diverse background in ABA therapy, adolescents with eating disorders, youth in foster care, and vocational rehabilitation counseling.

Taylor provides a person-centered approach to therapy with emphasis on unconditional positive regard, empathy, and genuineness. In addition, she integrates an eclectic approach drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy approaches (DBT), and Humanistic therapy. She ensures that every session is geared toward the diverse needs of each client. She is dedicated to meeting clients where they are on their therapeutic journey. She provides a safe, warm, and nonjudgmental approach. She is passionate about motivating her clients to cultivate healthy coping mechanisms, emotions, and behaviors that promote overall well-being.

Taylor is originally from Lake Charles, Louisiana. However, she has lived in Houston for most of her life and considers herself a proud Houstonian. She has two sweet dogs, one Labradoodle and a Yorkie. She loves the Lord, spending time with family and friends, all things pink, animals, the outdoors, helping others, and working with children.
